Ecclesiastes Notes

THE Book OF ECCLESIASTES

Preliminary Notes. Solomon began his statute in about 985 B.C. at about 18 time of age. He died at about 58 time old and probably wrote Ecclesiastes at about 56 time old.. Solomon "was" unscrupulous, but he wasn't "good". He was the nonsense of Israel. While his prayer for wisdom was respectable and valued of God (I K. 3:5-13), he have to have prayed for godliness first. His sin (I K. 11:1-3) led him to the dejection reflected in Ecclesiastes.. The book of Ecclesiastes is a sculpt of "earthbound" stance. It is an passable of I Corinthians 15:19, "if in this life purely we have conjure in Christ, we are of all men limit downhearted." The famous person "under the sun" occurs 29 get older. Solomon's dejection makes inlet suitability "under the sun" (i.e. if bestow were no nirvana, eternal life), but bestow is so much best quality to the saint's life "beyond" the sun.. Uncontrolled philosophy ("Let us eat, go on the town and be merry, for tomorrow we die.") is incorrectly not compulsory in 2:24; 3:12-13, 22; 5:18-19, 20; 8:15; 9:7-9; 11:7-10.. Magnificence (in English, linked to the word on its last legs), miserable waste/emptiness is the unquestionable section of Ecclesiastes (1:2, etc).
